Based at Dunfield Farm, Kington in August 2016.

Everyone up at 6am, breakfast and away by 7am.

Arrived at Aberystwyth at 8:45. We all went into town to get bait for our beach fishing.

The weather was dry but very windy.

We crab fished in the harbour because the front was too rough.

Everyone enjoyed themselves catching many crabs.

Packed lunch at 12:30pm.

By the time we arrived at Borth, it had started to rain and the wind was picking up even more.

We went on to the beach and set up the fishing rods. Unfortunately, the weather deteriorated and the fishing had to be cancelled for safety reasons. Everyone was very disappointed.

We went back to Kington and had dinner from the fish & chip shop, followed by chocolate cake for pud.

After dinner the Scouts introduced our Rover helper to the great art form known as ‘The Whipping Game’. They all had great fun instructing him how to play (and lose dramatically).

It had stopped raining so we had a fire in the yard and roasted marshmallows.

We all turned in at 11:30pm.

The following morning the Scouts went on a short hike to wake them up after a fabulous breakfast of cereal and drop scones.
