Beaver Activity Day at the Wyre Forest & Trimpley Reservoir
  • 10.00am – Departed Kings Heath

  • 11.00am – Comfort + play area stop – An active time on the monkey bars, ladders & swing at The Wyre Forest Discovery Centre

  • 12.15pm – Arrived at Trimpley Reservoir, Worcestershire. Parked at Eymore Wood car park.

  • 12:30pm – Packed lunch by the river – then activities…

The Beavers followed a trail of green ‘feather’ markers. They also began recording the day in their ‘Log books’ (Woodland Trust Nature Detectives). Those Beavers who return their log books & diary will earn a patch towards their Beaver Project badge.

Den building in Eymore Wood – We used a fallen tree’s roots & branches as a base. The Beavers were good workers collecting materials and there were creative uses of bark.

Unfortunately, we ran out of time but the Beavers had a clear idea of what their finished den would be like. There was furniture and utensils being made!

  • 3:30pm – Some of the Beavers prepared themselves a light tea – cheese & onion rolls were not popular but carrot sticks & cherry tomatoes were! Other Beavers still had treats left in their packed lunch bags!!

  • ~ 4:30pm - We left Trimpley, arriving back a little later than planned as one of the leaders couldn’t find their car keys…!

A fun day of Beaver activity which fully deserves a badge!!
